National Day of Remembrance was held on the Courthouse Square in Pike County on September 11, 2011 by American Legion Pike Post 197. It was attended by more people than I could count. At the very least, several hundred people were under the trees. This was held in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the attacks on 9/11 as well as a celebration of our emergency personnel who put their lives on the line every single day.
